Keys Beliefs in Room 210

There are seven key beliefs that guide
our classroom work and behavior.

1. I will be responsible. I do the right thing without being told.

2. I will be myself. I am a unique and valuable person.

3. I will be flexible. Sometimes I need to change in order to make things work.

4. Everything I do deserves my best effort.

5. I use positive and honest words.

6. I will be helpful, not hurtful.

7. I know mistakes lead to learning.

In addition:

I want the children to not only develop good reading skills but to also develop  a love of reading. Reading a good book should feel like breathing chocolate air!  Your children will leave my classroom not just reading, but as lifelong  readers.

I want the children to embrace mathematics as a wonderful puzzle just waiting to be put together!

I want the children to write meaningful stories and share these stories with  enthusiasm to the class and their families!

I want the children to feel free to make discoveries through trial and error.  No one should be afraid to make a mistake.  That's how we learn!

I want the children to develop the skills of cooperation,  responsibility,  empathy, and self-control.

I want the children in my classroom to develop into a community of kind and caring learners.  It is important that we care for each other!

I will challenge your children to be all they can be. (Does that sound like the Army commercial?)

I will provide evidence that your children are progressing.

I will teach your children as if they were my own.

I want the children and myself to have the

BEST YEAR EVER!!!
